Abstract :

Poroelasticity problems have wide applications in geophysics and biomechanics, so development of accurate and fast discretization methods for poroelasticity equations is an intensive research topic of recent computational mathematics. More recently, there are emerging interests on multiphysics problems that poroelasticity equations are coupled with other physics models. In this talk we discuss hybridizable discontinuous Galerkin (HDG) methods for poroelasticity equations and for the models that poroelasticity equations are coupled with (Navier)-Stokes equations with interfaces. This is based on joint works with Aycil Cesmelioglu at Oakland University and Sander Rhebergen at University of Waterloo.
